Key information
About this recruitment
We are recruiting 2 strawberry pickers for a new client – a well-established family farm in Bjärred, Sweden. The farm has current staff from Sweden and Poland. The position is open to candidates from Czech Republic and Latvia.
Working hours and pay
Minimum hours per week 40.
Strawberry picking takes place from morning to midday every day of the week. Weather and rain can make certain adjustments. For persons who handle work well, possible afternoon hours with other tasks can be offered from time to time.
Euro 14 per hour (Possible higher pay for strawberry picking tasks, see below)
This assignment is not a traditional hour-paid work, but a production-paid work. The hourly pay above is only a minimum pay for the work; however, it’s expected that their actual pay will be substantially higher.
For tasks that solely involve picking strawberries, payment is based on a rate per liter picked. If the amount picked on any given workday results in earnings that exceed the minimum hourly pay for that day, the payment will be based on the total number of liters of strawberries picked.
Pay per liter is Euro 0.49
By experience, a normal picker tends to pick between 36 and 59 liters per hour (Euro 17.64 to Euro 28.91)
Top pickers are those who pick over 60 liters per hour.
Critical pickers are those who pick under 36 liters per hour.
Picking less than 30 liters per hour for a number of consecutive days when all conditions are met can be cause for cancellation of contract.
