About this recruitment
We are recruiting up to 4 milk farm workers for a well-established family-operated farm outside Östersund, Sweden. The farm has 700 cows (400 milking) and a team of 7–8 people. Two contract options are available: a rotation model (2 months on, 1 month free) or a permanent position starting with an initial 3-month contract. Tractor skills are an advantage.
Working hours and pay
Minimum 48 hours per week (can become more occasional). Work is following planned shifts. 1 day free a week and usually the number of hours per day is 8.
€15/hour
Payment is assessed due to skills and through the process. At the test, the payment is €13/hour. For agreement after testing it might remain with a review at an agreed point or it might be higher.
Qualifications
Overall assessment of positive details such as:
- Fair and communicative English
- Drivers licence B it’s a plus
- Driver’s licence for the tractor is a plus
- Experience in tractor driving is a plus
- Experience with animals in particular cows and calves is a plus
- Prepared to follow instructions given and positive to teamwork
- Positive to physical work
- Having a good health condition
Candidate profile
An experienced farm worker – man or woman – with a background in dairy farming or animal husbandry. Responsible, physically fit, and able to maintain consistent performance over longer periods. Tractor skills are an advantage. A candidate who has experience in farming work with animals and if possible, also how to operate the tractor.
Selection process
CV assessment
Assessment is done from CV in English, followed by a possible online interview.
14-day probationary period
If approved, the candidate travels to the site for a 14-day probationary test period.
Regular contract
If approved after the probationary period, a regular self-employed contract commences.
Tasks
Handling the milking process and ensuring the wellbeing of cows and calves. Possible tractor tasks depending on experience and needs.
The ultimate client
Well-established family operated milk farms that also have farm machines and some cultivation of vegetables. There are 700 cows on the farm (400 for milking). 7-8 persons work at the farm mainly from Sweden, Lithuania, Germany and Afghanistan. Women also work at the farm from time to time and there is a dress room based on gender.
Accommodation
Accommodation follows Dolphin Group minimum standards including WI-FI available. Individual bedrooms and shared kitchen and toilets.
The accommodation is next to the farm. Closest supermarket is 4 km away. The main city is 45 km away
Main location and travel connections
Travel
Paid travel to and from the country of origin at arrival and departure by Dolphin Group Company at assignment less than a year (not paid break travel during assignment).
